Officially a 5 Year SURVIVOR of stage 3/4 tongue cancer (squamous cell carcinoma)  hoping to bring attention and awareness to this disease that affects so many for a wide variety of reasons. This will be the 4th year that my wife Hanna and I have organized the Twin Cities Oral Cancer Walk.  Each year we are amazed and delighted to see if change and grown. We love seeing all of the familiar smiling faces and meeting new attendees and survivors as we all work together to support the efforts of the Oral Cancer Foundation.

I was diagnosed in August 2018.  My treatment plan consisted of surgery; removal of the tumor, a portion of my tongue and the lymph nodes on the right side of my neck, followed up by 6 weeks of chemo and radiation.
